The borough is dominated by interwar and 1930s semi-detached housing — cavity walls, bay windows, tiled roofs and, importantly, a proper bituminous damp proof course that was a genuine improvement on Victorian slate. Ninety years on, most of those damp courses are still doing their job.
Which means that when a Bexleyheath semi has a damp wall, injecting a new damp course is very often the wrong answer. Nine times out of ten the real cause is something bridging the existing one, or water getting in somewhere it shouldn't. We'd rather find that than sell you an injection you don't need.

Decades of new patios, block paving and raised borders laid up against the wall. Once the outside ground sits above the internal floor, the damp course is bridged and water tracks straight past it.
Mortar droppings left on the wall ties when the house was built, or debris in the cavity. Water crosses from the outer leaf to the inner one and appears as a patch partway up the wall.

Tide marks and salt staining on ground floor walls. We inject a new damp proof course using the SecoMUR system, guaranteed 30 years, then replaster with a salt-inhibiting render.
Patches that worsen after rain. Nearly always caused by something outside — a gutter, cracked render or failed pointing — so that's what we fix first.
